Column Leach Testing
Column leach testing is typically performed once your ores amenability to heap leaching has initially been confirmed using the cheaper and faster coarse ore bottle roll test method.
However coarse ore bottle roll tests alone are insufficient to determine the suitability of your ore to heap leaching.
A column leach test programme can be used to investigate factors including crush size, agglomeration conditions, cyanide dosage and solution application rate.
The results of a column leach test will provide indicative information on commercial scale recoveries and leach time after correction factors, and cyanide consumption rates. After leaching is complete within the column test it is typical to perform percolation and drain down tests.
