Froth flotation separation performance can be highly variable and is dependent on many factors which are often interlinked; for example variation in particle size affects mineral particle collection and transport, consequently flotation optimisation is required for both physical operating parameters (e.g. air rate) and chemical operating parameters (e.g. reagent addition).
We are able to develop testwork programmes that will allow understanding of the effects of flotation variables such as reagent addition, pH and air flowrate on separation performance, in order to optimise either concentrate grade, mineral recovery or both.
Using batch scale flotation allows many variables to be tested and enables the relative effects and interactions between variables to be determined. These findings can be subsequently applied to plant-scale operation. Furthermore, we have many years of experience in plant-scale flotation trials, and can provide flotation optimisation of operating parameters for existing operations.
