Bond Work Index Tests
Grinding Solutions can undertake both ball and rod mill Bond Work Index tests as part of our range of mineral processing lab services. The tests are perhaps the most widely accepted and commonly used of all comminution testing. The Bond Work Index Tests are closed circuit dry grindability tests performed in rod and ball mills of standard sizes with standardised steel ball and rod charges.
The tests determine the Rod / Ball Mill Bond Work Index which is used to calculate net power requirements when sizing rod and ball mills.
Bond Ball Mill Work Index Test
- Undertaken with closed screen settings ranging from 28 – 400 mesh (37 – 600 μm)
- Sample requirements 10-15 kg of -6 mesh (-3.35 mm) Ore
Bond Rod Mill Work Index Test
- Undertaken with closed screen settings ranging from 4 – 65 mesh
- Sample requirements 15-20 kg of -½” Ore
Results of the Bond Work Index Tests come in a standardised report format. We are committed to providing a reliable and efficient service. The Bond Work Index Tests complement our comprehensive range of comminution testing and optimisation services; including specialist grinding chemistry monitoring and stirred milling services. Furthermore, the tests can be integrated with downstream separation testing, such as froth flotation, and incorporated with mineral liberation analysis.
