BSc MSc ACSM FIMMM Managing DirectorNick has over 30 years’ experience in the global minerals industry, graduating from the Camborne School of Mines with a BSc in Mineral Processing and an MSc in Mineral Processing from Queens University, Canada. Nick’s professional career spans all areas of industrial & metalliferous minerals processing and oil field related minerals and applications. His experience ranges from R&D, product development, production and product marketing through to plant specification design & commissioning. Nick is a fellowof IOM3 and as a Director of CEEC he also provides advice on market analysis and mining investment.

DirectorFelicity joined Grinding Solutions in 2010 bringing with her a wealth of business experience, having previously been a Director of a company in the oil sector with a T/O of £5M. Felicity manages the business support side of the company, covering areas including business development, health & safety, finance and HR. With links to the mining for 40 years Felicity has knowledge and understanding of the industry and an extensive network of contacts.

Prior to joining Grinding Solutions, Phil was Chief Project Metallurgist with Bisha Mining Share Company where he was focused on medium term, long term and strategic projects, bringing them from concept through to production.

MEngTech PhD FAusIMM FIMMM FAIG FSEG FMinSoc Principal GeometallurgistDr Simon Dominy is a mining professional whose career has included technical and leadership roles in mine operations, academia and consulting. Simon is particularly interested in the integration of geology, mining engineering and mineral processing through the application of geometallurgy. Simon has expertise in the evaluation and exploitation of various gold orebody styles including lode-gold, shear-zone, epithermal and alluvial deposits. Recent consulting activity has included: integrated studies of ore characterisation/mineral deportment; optimum sample size determination; sample protocol optimisation; metallurgical plant sampling systems; sampling tower design; bulk sampling/trial mining programme planning and management; pilot/test plant design; and grade control systems/protocols. Widely published, he has authored more than 85 peer reviewed conference and journal papers on topics ranging from REE, gold and tin economic geology, ore characterisation, sampling/Sampling Theory, resource development and estimation, gravity-based mineral processing and mining.

BSc MSc PhD MCSM MIMMM Senior MetallurgistJames has BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bath and completed his Masters and PhD in Minerals Engineering at Camborne School of Mines. Prior to joining Grinding Solutions, James worked for FLSmidth and was actively involved in projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Russia. His experience ranges from R&D and data analysis to plant design and commissioning.

Kathryn Hadler

MEng PhD Senior MetallurgistKathryn Hadler divides her time between academia and consultancy and her area of expertise is froth flotation. She has MEng and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester. Her research career to date has focused on optimising flotation performance through understanding and improving froth stability and she has carried out numerous industrial experimental programmes around the world. At Grinding Solutions Kathryn specialises in linking mineralogical analysis with flotation optimisation.

Mike Cook

BSc MSc MCSM Senior Project MetallurgistMike has a BSc in Applied Geology from the Camborne School of Mines and an MSc in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy also from Camborne School of Mines. After graduating in 2007 he worked at SGS Minerals Services UK progressing to Senior Project Metallurgist working on projects from scoping level through to definitive feasibility level. Mike has significant experience in areas of leaching (particularly relating to gold and silver), flotation, gravity recovery and tailings handling.

BEng (hons) ProfGradIMMM MetallurgistAfter over 10 years in the engineering and construction industry, Thomas completed a degree in Mining and Minerals Engineering at the Camborne School of Mines and worked as a rock engineer for ICL at Boulby mine prior to joining the team. Thomas works on all aspects of laboratory mineral processing from standard testing to R&D and specialises in comminution, classification, fine grinding and flotation for both industrial and metalliferous minerals projects.

BSc MSc MCSM ProfGradIMMM MetallurgistJon has an MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, with a undergraduate BSc in Geology. Jon’s MSc project focused on early financial appraisal of Cu mining projects. Since arriving at Grinding Solutions Jon has led a range of projects with a focus on fine grinding and optimising sulphide and oxide flotation. Jon has also worked on industrial mineral projects and helped to expand our lab capabilities in high temperature processing.

Prior to joining Grinding Solutions, Ben worked for Imerys Minerals Ltd for twelve years and was actively involved within the mining function holding roles which included Mining Engineer and Explosive Supervisor.

MSc MCSM BSc ACSM FGS Junior MetallurgistJamie has a BSc in Applied geology and MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines. His MSc thesis was based around utilising novel technologies to aid fragmentation in rock. Previous experience is based heavily in the civil engineering industry, notably in foundations where he worked for a leading piling and geotechnical engineering subcontractor in various capacities both in design, on-site and customer relations.
