Nick Wilshaw | BSc MSc ACSM FIMMM | Managing Director

Nick has over 30 years’ experience in the global minerals industry, graduating from the Camborne School of Mines with a BSc in Mineral Processing and an MSc in Mineral Processing from Queens University, Canada. Nick’s professional career spans all areas of industrial & metalliferous minerals processing and oil field related minerals and applications. His experience ranges from R&D, product development, production and product marketing through to plant specification design & commissioning. Nick is a member of IOM3 and an Advocate of CEEC he also provides advice on market analysis and mining investment.


Felicity Wilshaw | Director

Felicity joined Grinding Solutions in 2010 bringing with her a wealth of business experience, having previously been a Director of a company in the oil sector with a T/O of £5M.  Felicity manages the business support side of the company, covering areas including business development, health & safety, finance and HR. With links to the mining for 40 years Felicity has knowledge and understanding of the industry and an extensive network of contacts.


James Gaydon | BSc MSc PhD MCSM ProfGradIMMM | Senior Metallurgist

James has BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bath and completed his Masters and PhD in Minerals Engineering at Camborne School of Mines. Prior to joining Grinding Solutions, James worked for FLSmidth and was actively involved in projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Russia. His experience ranges from R&D and data analysis to plant design and commissioning.


Klaas Peter van der Wielen | BSc MSc PhD MCSM ProfGradIMMM | Senior Metallurgist

Klaas has a multidisciplinary background, with a Bachelors degree in Geology from Utrecht University, a Masters degree in Mining Engineering from the Technical University of Delft and a PhD from the Camborne School of Mines. After graduating he worked with SelFrag AG in Switzerland for three years on process development, before moving to Wolf Minerals’ Drakelands tin and tungsten operation in Southwest England, where he worked as a shift metallurgist. His specialisations include comminution, process mineralogy and applications of image analysis in mineral processing.


Kathryn Hadler | MEng PhD | Senior Metallurgist

Kathryn Hadler divides her time between academia and consultancy and her area of expertise is froth flotation. She has MEng and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester. Her research career to date has focused on optimising flotation performance through understanding and improving froth stability and she has carried out numerous industrial experimental programmes around the world. At Grinding Solutions Kathryn specialises in linking mineralogical analysis with flotation optimisation.


Mike Cook | BSc MSc MCSM | Senior Project Metallurgist

Mike has a BSc in Applied Geology from the Camborne School of Mines and an MSc in Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy also from Camborne School of Mines. After graduating in 2007 he worked at SGS Minerals Services UK progressing to Senior Project Metallurgist working on projects from scoping level through to definitive feasibility level. Mike has significant experience in areas of leaching (particularly relating to gold and silver), flotation, gravity recovery and tailings handling.


Adam Skitt | BSc MSc MCSM | Project Metallurgist

Adam graduated from Camborne School of Mines with an MSc in Minerals Processing. After graduating in 2012 worked as a Metallurgist at SGS UK and SGS Australia on a variety of industrial and metalliferous minerals projects. As well as being a metallurgist, Adam has carried out a variety of roles within the mining industry including Process Plant Operator at Wolf Minerals where he ran the Crushing, DMS and Gravity circuits. Adam specialises in froth flotation and gravity separation.


Thomas Rescorl | BEng (hons) | Metallurgist

After over 10 years in the engineering and construction industry, Thomas completed a degree in Mining and Minerals Engineering at the Camborne School of Mines and worked as a rock engineer for ICL at Boulby mine prior to joining the team. Thomas works on all aspects of laboratory mineral processing from standard testing to R&D and specialises in comminution, classification, fine grinding and flotation for both industrial and metalliferous minerals projects.


Jon Rumbles | BSc MSc MCSM GradIMMM | Metallurgist

Jon has an MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, with a undergraduate BSc in Geology. Jon’s MSc project focused on early financial appraisal of Cu mining projects. Since arriving at Grinding Solutions Jon has led a range of projects with a focus on fine grinding and optimising sulphide and oxide flotation. Jon has also worked on industrial mineral projects and helped to expand our lab capabilities in high temperature processing.


Jack Carr | BSc MSc MCSM GradIMMM | Junior Metallurgist

Jack has an MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, with a undergraduate BSc in Exploration and Resource Geology. His MSc thesis was based at Grinding Solutions and focused on the effects of fine grinding and pulp chemistry on downstream bioleaching. Since joining Grinding Solutions Jack has been involved with a number of projects including leading a study into Cu slag flotation. Jack has established a bioleaching/hydromet capability in our newly expanded lab facility.


Teresa Norejko | MEng AMIChemE | Junior Chemical Engineer

Teresa Norejko has an MEng in Chemical Engineering from Swansea University. Her final year industrial placement focused on grinding media optimisation and vortex modelling in an SMD. Teresa worked with Grinding solutions alongside the final 3 years of her degree on a number of projects from kaolin refining and R&D to fine grinding and flotation for both metalliferous and industrial minerals. Teresa joined the team full time in 2018.


Jamie Goodship | MSc MCSM BSc ACSM FGS | Junior Metallurgist

Jamie has a BSc in Applied geology and MSc in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines. His MSc thesis was based around utilising novel technologies to aid fragmentation in rock. Previous experience is based heavily in the civil engineering industry, notably in foundations where he worked for a leading piling and geotechnical engineering subcontractor in various capacities both in design, on-site and customer relations.

Ben Keverne | BSc MSc MCSM | Junior Metallurgist

Ben has a BSc in Environmental Geoscience from University of Cardiff and completed his Masters in Mining Engineering at Camborne School of Mines. Prior to joining Grinding Solutions, Ben worked for Imerys Minerals Ltd for twelve years and was actively involved within the mining function holding roles which included Mining Engineer and Explosive Supervisor.

Debbie Partridge | Business Administrator

Debbie has a BA (hons) in Business and Management from Bath Spa University in 2009. Debbie joined in Jan 2017 and more often than not is the voice on the other end of the phone, assisting with all business enquiries. Debbie works in the accounting function of the business handling supplier and customer invoicing and purchase orders.


James Strong | Commercial Manager

James joined in 2017 to focus on marketing and commercial aspects of the business. He has extensive experience having worked in a range of commercial and business development roles in a growing international SME in the offshore Oil & Gas and Renewable industries. James also assists with business strategy, planning, process and system improvements as the company continues to grow.
