The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining is a UK engineering institution whose activities encompass the whole materials cycle, from exploration and extraction, through characterisation, processing, forming, finishing and application, to product recycling and land reuse. The Camborne School of Mines is a world-class mining and geoscience school, rich in history and culture and is now part of the University of Exeter. A number of GSL staff have associations with CSM, either having graduated from the school or having family members who have and GSL works closely with CSM on everything from student work experience to research and development programmes. We received a grant from the BIG2 Project funded from the ERDF as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 which partly funded a new Hydromet, Bio and Cyanide leaching test facility which we commissioned in Nov 2018. Since then, the facility has enabled us to offer two new services which are complementary to our current business and employ 2 new additional members of staff.
