GSL’ MagotteauxMill® allows comprehensive measurement and grinding chemistry monitoring during milling tests in order to replicate plant conditions and/or allow investigation into the effects of grinding chemistry on downstream processing, particularly froth flotation and leeching.
Chemical properties including pH, Eh, dissolved oxygen and oxygen demand, in addition to temperature, are measured during the grinding process. This enables detailed analysis into variability of grinding chemistry, particle size and mineral liberation, in addition to ensuring reproducibility between tests and applicability to plant scale operating conditions.
The MagotteauxMill® can run at variable rotational speed, with temperature control and continuous grinding chemistry monitoring. When combined with laboratory flotation testing and leaching, this enables a powerful integrated approach to troubleshooting and optimising mineral separations.
To maximise the performance and grinding efficiency, grind curves integrated with indicative power draw requirements for signature plots can be generated. This allows the chemistry monitoring to be coupled with power measurements, which is useful in media analysis where varying grades of steel/chrome media can be assessed in terms of wear and the effect media can have on downstream performance.
