With the push towards electrification and renewable energy sources, companies, countries and regions are looking at sources of lithium and other battery metals. The UK based Cornish Lithium are one of these, looking at the extraction of lithium from brines and hard rock. GSL, after successful bench testing, have been undertaking pilot plant testing for Cornish Lithium, assisting the company to develop a process extract lithium from micas.
Pilot scale testing enables GSL to confirm bench testing results, building confidence whilst also generating concentrate which Cornish Lithium can use for further testing.
Battery metals will be critical in the future as the world moves towards more environmentally friendly transport and infrastructure. GSL are ideally placed to assist companies across mining and recycling sectors to develop energy efficient processes which limit environmental impact.
