Nick attended the August London Mining Sundowner on Thursday evening, 28th August, meeting up with other CSM graduates including Mark Alcock, about to start a new job, Martijn Mannot-Russell currently based in Zurich for BASF, David Meadows of FLSmidth who was on his way through London back to the US where he’s based and, last but not least, Peter Taylor, who is pushing his visions of Elephant conservation through his company Mammoth Mining aimed at controlling the ivory market. Peter was on his down to Falmouth for the Tall Ships Regatta, which meant he helped keep Nick awake on the road back to Cornwall last night.
During his London visit he also caught up with other CSM graduates. First a meeting with Martin Rosser, CEO of Alexander Mining, who have some very interesting technology ready for commercialization, then lunch with Simon Grant-Rennick to discuss his recent visit to Kenya and follow-up on lab test work GSL has been carrying out.
