GSL have been working with Magotteaux International, pushing the boundaries of research in fine and ultrafine grinding technologies. Research has concentrated on the effect of operating parameters on the performance of SMD mills. several operating parameters were investigated including media filling degree, impeller tip speed, media size, and slurry throughput. the SMD research has highlighted the importance of the understanding of grinding mechansims in stirred media milling, and the effect of operating parameters on these mechanisms. The research work will be presented at the Minerals Engineering International Comminution16 conference which will be held in Cape Town, April 11th-14th.
