Laboratory test work is being undertaken into the feasibility of producing a tin and heavy metal concentrate from a UK sourced quarry sand. Sampling from the quarry sand products and historical process tailings have shown the presence of both tin and titanium in appreciable concentrations. GSL are now undertaking investigations into the feasibility for gravity concentration of the heavy metals. Proposals have outlined spirals, mineral jigs, and shaking tables as viable concentration techniques. The laboratory is awaiting the delivery of bulk samples before undertaking this further test work.
